Each fall, Entrepreneurship at Cornell University hosts an amazing and inspiring all-day event in New York City called Eclectic Convergence/Summit. There, the of-the-moment entrepreneurs, share their stories and give insights to hundreds of startups, investors, and busy bodies with brilliant ideas. It’s also the University’s coolest opportunity for networking. Each year brings a new challenge to convey the edgy trends and ideas that the conference brings to the Cornell entrepreneurial community and its network. Our 2018 theme was the first year for the new conference title, Eclectic Convergence.

Since we rarely know the speakers early enough in the creative process to identify them in the concepts, this year we chose to illustrate the variety of eclectic conversations as geometric shapes in a 3D space. This allowed us to use focus and depth of field to make the 2018 motion graphics compelling and unique.
We then built complimentary type treatments for the conference titles and headers which could be broken and manipulated in our animations. These also come to life in teaser ads, signage, and merch applications, to keep every element on-brand.

The event program is a small, 48-page giveaway booklet filled with more info on the speakers, conference maps, sponsor ads, and other details to help attendees enjoy the event. The design for this year’s program was bold and colorful and tied to the 3D floating animation graphics.
Once the key motion graphics and brand elements are complete, we build out the custom built, mobile-first, one-page scrolling registration website. Each year we tweak the template to bring new richness and clarity to key content, and spotlight the speakers bios in new ways.

Each year is a special project for us. We have 2 months after each event to explore new ideas and get ready for the next year, and in January we dive back in. It is a tremendous privilege to work with clients like the Entrepreneurship at Cornell team. They challenge us to keep our concepts fresh, and give us great creative freedom to develop ideas that are fun, and eclectic. Our goal is to make this event the most memorable event in the Cornell community each year.
